Centro di ricerca e tutela del consumatore e degli utenti- CRTCU Trento

The Centre for Research and protection of consumers and users (Centro di ricerca e tutela del consumatore e degli utenti ) is a service of public utility that provides free information, advice and assistance for private consumers.

It is based and operating in Trento, the capital of the Trentino Province of northern Italy. The activity is supported by the Province. The Autonomous Province of Trento promotes the protection of the rights and interests of citizens as consumers and users through the Provincial Act n.8/1997 with the following objectives: to ensure an effective protection against risks to health and consumer safety, effective protection against prejudice to the economic interests of consumers, promotion of a policy of information, education and training of consumers, protection for users of services, promotion and development of associationism among consumers and users also through the offer of services and access to data.

The CRTCU endeavours to:

  • inform consumers about economic mechanisms and on their possibilities to defend their interests;
  • defend the interests of consumers;
  • provide - by means of information material - tools to enable consumers to act more critically and responsibly when buying products and services


Conduct research activities and studies on the issues that concern consumers, carrying out comparative analysis of products and services.


Support and promote information and training initiatives that are able to meet the needs of consumers.

Opening Hours

There is a front office open to the public every day from Monday to Friday totally for free. The Centre for Research and protection of consumers and users is located in:
